Corkcase is specialised in a sustainable development product: the cork fabric. Corkcase offers elegant and environmental friendly cases as well as protective sleeves for mobiles and laptops.
Hand labour is used throughout the entire harvesting process from the removal of the bark through to the production of the cork fabric: no cork oak tree is cut down and no chemical additive is involved.
The most demanding industries such as luxury products, luggage and car, find the idea of fabric made of cork very attractive and have started to use this entirely natural product in their latest collections.
Cork, a renewable raw material source.
Cork oak tree is the only tree to regenerate its bark every 9 to 15 years. Stripping the outer bark off the tree must be done with high precision so as not to penetrate the inner lining of the tree which would affect the tree’s life expectancy as well as the bark growth pattern. For this reason cork harvest is all done manually by skilled harvesters.
Cork also cleans the Air. Oak forests act as extraordinary efficient "carbon wells" which help reducing the impact of global warming: 1.3 hectare of cork oak trees absorbs more than 2 tonnes of CO2 every year.
